Brandywine Park and Zoo is at 1001 N. Park Dr. along the Brandywine River between Augustine and Market sts. The 180-acre park was designed by the creator of New York City's Central Park, Frederick Law Olmstead, and features the Josephine Garden, which has 118 Japanese cherry trees. The zoo houses a Florida bobcat, Amur tiger, small mammals and a variety of North and South American reptiles and birds. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
Park free. Zoo admission May-Sept. $7; $5 (ages 3-17 and 62+). Admission rest of year $5; $4 (ages 62+); $3 (ages 3-17).
Hours: Park daily dawn-dusk. Zoo daily 10-4, Mar.-Oct.; Wed.-Sun. 10-4, rest of year.
