Holy Trinity (Old Swedes) Episcopal Church, 606 Church St., was built in 1698-99 and is said to be the oldest church in the United States standing as originally built and still in use as a house of worship. It was erected by descendants of the Swedish colonists who crossed the Atlantic aboard the Kalmar Nyckel in 1638.

Hours: Guided tours are given Wed.-Sat. 10-4, Apr.-Dec.; Wed.-Fri. 1-4, Sat. 10-4, in Mar.; by appointment rest of year. Closed Jan.1, July 4, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
