AAA Editor Notes
James Madison Memorial Building, at 101 Independence Ave. S.E. across from the Thomas Jefferson Building, is one of three buildings comprising the Library of Congress. Opened in 1980, it is contemporary in design and contains reading rooms. Two areas, the Performing Arts Gallery and the Geography and Map Corridor, have rotating exhibitions.

Note: Visitors must pass through security. Researchers must obtain a reader card by presenting a valid photo ID to gain access to the library's reading rooms and collections.
