The Robert A. Taft Memorial and Carillon stands 1 blk. n. of the United States Capitol on Constitution Ave. between New Jersey Ave. and 1st St. N.W. Taft, the son of President William Howard Taft, was a senator from Ohio between 1938 and 1953. The memorial is of a 100-foot-tall tower with 27 matched bells; standing in front of the tower is a 10-foot-tall bronze statue of Taft.
