The Textile Museum is at 21st and G sts. on the campus of The George Washington University. Changing exhibits from the museum's collections highlight the handmade textile arts, both traditional techniques and modern methods. The hands-on Textile Learning Center educates visitors about the art of textile creation. A trove of artifacts related to the founding of the nation's capital are gathered together in the Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection; The Arthur D. Jenkins Library of Textile Arts contains more than 20,000 books and periodicals about textiles. Guided tours are available.
$8 (suggested donation); free (ages 0-11, museum members and current GW students, faculty and staff).

Hours: Museum Mon. 11-5, Wed.-Thurs. 11-7, Fri. 11-5, Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5. Library Wed.-Thurs. 1-4 and by appointment. Closed university holidays.
