AAA Inspector Notes
These stylish, spacious suites are spread around sprawling grounds. The beach is quite tiny, but they have a scheduled shuttle to a larger beach. Guests also get certain privileges at sister resorts. Two large pools are located on opposite sides of the resort; one where all the action happens and another that is more quiet. They offer a few activities throughout the day like bike tours and pool volleyball, but overall it is a quieter kind of property. An unusual but welcome feature here is the covered parking for those with rental cars. Smoke free premises. 170 units, some two bedrooms, three bedrooms, efficiencies and kitchens. 3 stories, interior corridors.

Very Good
young couple
Pros: It is a really luxurious hotel considering what you pay per night. It is my 2nd time booking this place and the only thing that bothered me is that at 3am there was some super loud music coming from a quienceañera's party at this club which is basically inside the project. We complained and thankfully they changed our room in the middle of the night so service was really good, BUT, this things shouldn't happen.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, good environment, excellent customer service
Cons: A/c didn't work properly

Cons: There was a pretty nice beach close to the property but there were just too many other problems. For one, the shuttle bus to the beach was just too small. On the way back from the beach, my friend and I were lucky enough to fit onto the shuttle but a bunch of other people were told they would have to wait for the next shuttle (which was at least a 20 minute wait). The sun was hot. People were tired. That's not right. There are several pools on the property but all of them close at 7 pm. So, when the sun is down and the weather is nice and cool, if you try to go into the pool you will be asked to leave by a security guard. This happened to me and my friend. Also, even though the pool is closed, the music will continue blasting around the pool areas until 10 pm at night. There are several restaurants on the property but most of them are only open certain days of the week or if they are open, they only serve drinks. This is a serious drawback to the "all-inclusive" package. The staff is terrible. Our phone didn't work. They knew about this for hours but never sent anyone to fix it. Our door wouldn't open when we got back from the beach one day and it took them an hour to fix it. I sent a detailed email of my complaints to the property manager expecting some kind of discount. Of course, I never got a reply. Stay away from this place!!!!

Pros: The room (an apartment-like suite) was enormous, with a full kitchen, separate dining room/living room area, three balconies, and an incredible view of the pool, marina, ocean in the not-to-far distance, etc. The staff were, to a person, were extremely polite and helpful. Great value for the money (off-season). Secure, free parking.
Cons: The shower drain was so slow that you were standing in a swamp after two minutes. Not good. Also, the three shag throw rugs in the bedroom were filthy. They were also completely unnecessary. It's the tropics! Just give me a clean tile floor and get rid of the dirty rugs. The suite was very exceptional otherwise. The food was mixed. We went with the all-inclusive plan, and while we had some good meals (the omelets to order at breakfast were great), we also had very poor dinner meals one night at the Italian themed restaurant. I did not like being given an invoice to sign at every meal, showing a zero balance (it was all inclusive), but having a tip option. I tipped well, always in cash (Dominican Pesos), but that was off-putting. All-inclusive should mean not having to mess with black vinyl folders and computer printouts at meal time. Tip: You might not want a top floor room if the balconies have no overhead shade. Ours did not, and the balconies were effectively unusable until later in the evening.

Pros: Every time we visit Alsol Luxury Village we have a great experience. We keep going back and we will be returning again, hopefully very soon. Great staff, great service, beautiful place (stunning actually). The Junior Suite is very spacious: king bed, closet, desk, living room with sofa-bed, tv, balcony, kitchenette and bathroom with separate tub and shower. Just a note: there is no hair dryer, so you might consider bringing your own. We loved the beach and the fact that we were taken there in a golf cart provided by the hotel. Pools are very nice too. We also loved Juanillo Beach, and the nearby shopping mall.
