Larimar Museum

Larimar Museum is on the second floor of a building at the corner of Isabel La Católica and Padre Billini in the Colonial Zone. While the mineral pectolite can be found all over the world, blue pectolite—also called larimar—has been found only in the Dominican Republic’s Barahona province. The small museum features labeled displays describing the semiprecious stone’s volcanic formation and how it is mined.
