AAA Inspector Notes
Their downtown locations makes this great for nice strolls to the riverwalk, marina, and museum. Rooms are decorated with dark woods and earth tones. Their suites are roomy and have a sleeper sofa. The hotel was built in 1926 and much of the public areas have been restored to its original grandeur. Original terrazzo marbles, hand-painted wood-beamed ceilings, original light fixtures and woodwork that has been either restored or replicated to appear as it did in its infancy highlight the public areas. The grand ballroom still has the original ornate, arched ceilings and original medallions of manatees adorn the corners. The property has seen many incarnations in its' near century of existence and is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
