Bulla means chatter or energetic talking and that is the intention of this restaurant—to stir up emotion about the food, ambience and service to create a vibrant atmosphere. The gastropub concept is borrowed from the best characteristics of the countless tapas bars of Spain. Most of the menu is designed around ordering three to five small plates per person and engage in sharing. There are large entrée-size plates available as well. The small plate menu offers many options ranging from octopus salad and veal-pork meatballs to garlic shrimp and braised short ribs. The ham croquettes with fig jelly are melt-in-your-mouth morsels with just the right amount of sweetness. There is an impressive selection of imported cheeses and cured meats including the highly-prized Iberico ham. Don't forget dessert with one of the house favorites—churros (fried doughnuts with a chocolate dipping sauce).
