De Leon Springs State Park is 1 mi. w. off US 17 at 601 Ponce De Leon Blvd. The springs of this 625-acre park send 19 million gallons of water daily over a spillway into Spring Garden Creek. Swimming is permitted in the spring pool. Canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals are available.

Other features include nature and hiking trails, shady picnic pavilions, a playground, a visitor information center with exhibits and a historic sugar mill. A narrated 50-minute boat tour through the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge allows passengers to view wildlife while learning about the area's history and folklore. Guests can cook pancakes at their table in a restaurant in the sugar mill.

Guided tours are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
