Old Dillard Museum, 1009 N.W. 4th St. at jct. N.W. 10th Ave., is housed in the restored 1924 Dillard High School, which served as the area's first African-American school. Heritage exhibits include artifacts, photographs and interactive galleries. An exhibit about local jazz music centers on renowned alto saxophonist Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, the school's band director in the 1940s who moved to New York City in the 1950s and played with Miles Davis. Special events are offered monthly.
