Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is off I-75 exit 136, .5 mi. w. on Colonial Blvd. (SR 884), then n. to 3450 Ortiz Ave. The center is home to snakes, turtles, frogs, alligators, foxes, skunks, birds of prey and bald eagles, and bobcats. It also features a walk-through butterfly aviary, a natural history museum and 3.5 miles of nature trails. Planetarium shows and live animal presentations are offered.
Picnicking is permitted.
