ECHO Global Farm Tours is off I-75 exit 143, then 1 mi. e. on SR 78, then n. to 17391 Durrance Rd. ECHO, Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization, is a 50-acre farm demonstrating tropical food plants and techniques useful to farmers and urban gardeners in developing countries. The Global Farm is divided into climatic settings that represent tropical lowlands, a rain forest, semi-arid land, hillside farming, a monsoon, and community and urban gardens. The farm is open only by guided tour. The Appropriate Technology Tour demonstrates simple technologies made from local or recycled materials.

Farm or technology tour $12.50; $9 (ages 13-18); $6 (ages 6-12). Combination farm and technology tour $18.75; $13.50 (ages 13-18); $9 (ages 6-12).
ECHO Global Nursery open Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 9-4. Guided farm tours are given Tues.-Sat. at 9:30 and 1:30, Dec.-Apr.; Tues., Fri. and Sat. at 9:30, May-Nov. Technology tours are given Tues., Fri. and Sat. at 11:30, year-round. Tour times may change seasonally; phone ahead to confirm tour schedule. Closed major holidays. Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
