Manatee Observation and Education Center, 480 N. Indian River Dr., offers indoor educational displays about manatees and the fragile Treasure Coast ecosystem, as well as aquariums, interactive displays and a touch tank. Outdoors, the covered walkway and the observation tower offer views of Moore's Creek and the Indian River lagoon with potential sightings of manatees and other wildlife in their natural habitat. A garden planted to attract butterflies also is on the grounds. Wildlife boat tours are offered. Educational programs also are offered. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.

Hours: Grounds open daily 24 hours. Indoor exhibits open Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-4, Oct.-June; Thurs.-Sat. 10-5, rest of year. Boat tours by reservation. Exhibit hall closed major holidays. Last admission 30 minutes before closing.
