AAA Inspector Notes
Since 1962, this spot has been serving up mouth-watering barbecue to locals and visitors alike. The food mirrors the service--fast and good. The menu is fairly basic and offers the typical fare with chicken, burgers, catfish, pork ribs, turkey and shrimp. The meats are smoked right on the premises and emphasize that it is the cooking technique that makes the food and not the sauce-the sauce is just the icing on the cake. The all-wood interior is what a barbecue joint should look like, which also includes some cowboy Western-themed nick knacks on the walls. Be sure to take home some of the homemade iced tea and barbecue sauces, which can be purchased before you walk out the door.
