AAA Inspector Notes
The inn, comprised of two 1885 and 1895 houses and four cottages, is situated on lush grounds and just a short distance east of the town center. The cottages are located at the rear part of the property, and the guest rooms and baths are decorated to match the period of the homes. Indigent flora, brick walkways, seven fountains and mature oaks overshadow much of the grounds. This place is a favorite for weddings because of the tent-style event hall. Smoke free premises. 20 units, some two bedrooms, kitchens and cottages. 2-3 stories (no elevator), interior corridors.

Pros: I really liked the idea of the property and felt at home. The staff was very personable.
Cons: I wish it would've been better options for breakfast due to the amount of money I paid. Also wish there was a later check-out time.

Pros: The grounds are tropical and well maintained.
Cons: Although the room was decorated nicely with antiques and a Vera Wang mattress, the mattress in the Heirloom room was very firm. If you like a firm bed then I suppose it would be just right; however, the mattress was not a good fit for me. Also I phoned ahead of time to inquire if the Inn could accommodate a gluten and dairy free diet and was assured that this could be accommodated. Unfortunately, there were just three items served that fit our needs.....fruit, grits, and ham. For those with no dietary restrictions the breakfast was good. Egg-cheese casserole, cream cheese-Apple crepes covered in maple syrup, yogurt, and an assortment of breads and muffins.

Pros: we loved staying at the Sweetwatwr Branch Inn . It was like being in the comforts of our own home. So much better than a chain hotel and the price is comparable if not better. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves 2 days in a row. They fed our family of 5 breakfast with no extra charge. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Fresh towels for bath and pool each day. Staff was super friendly. The inn is a little bit of history that you can experience. For the age of the houses they are in excellent condition and clean. We will definitely come back!
