Jonathan Dickinson State Park, 2 mi. s. on US 1, comprises 11,500 acres, including the Loxahatchee River. Bald eagles, scrub jays and sandhill cranes are among the birds that thrive amid the park's abundant plant life. Two-hour guided tours aboard the Loxahatchee Queen III depart to Trapper Nelson Interpretive Site on the river; it is accessible only by boat. Canoe and kayak rentals are available. Guided trail rides also are offered in winter.
