AAA Inspector Notes
This is definitely not the run-of-the-mill barbecue joint but a notch above the local barbecue competition in many respects. You can design your own two-meat combo with a choice of pork shoulder, beef brisket, Texas hot links, pit-smoked chicken and dry-rub spare ribs. Most plates and sandwiches come with one or two well-prepared side dishes. Among the favorite accompaniments are collard greens, dirty rice and sweet potato mash. The whole hawg platter will satisfy any appetite. More than just barbecue, this eatery also features a bourbon maple-glazed salmon and Delta catfish as well as shrimp and grits, a Southern favorite. The value priced lunch menu continues until 4 pm. Live music is showcased three or four times a month with a nominal cover charge.
