I was amazed by the taxidermy collection which is one of the largest in the United States and the ability to sample camel, llama, snake and kangaroo!
AAA Inspector Notes
Established in 1974, this restaurant is commonly referred to as the Peoples place—Peoples refers to the last name of the owners. Resting peacefully on Julington Creek, the eatery resembles an old wooden shack. Inside, the décor looks like something out of an amusement park with realistic wildlife scenes, taxidermy animals and jungle-like plant life. Patrons can appreciate old Florida charm at its best when dining here. The menu lists a slew of Southern favorites, including gator tail. The menu also includes wild game appetizers such as escargot, gator eggs, eel, turtle, rabbit, frog legs, quail, ostrich, kangaroo, venison, buffalo, antelope, snake, llama and dungeness crab. You can choose to dine indoors where the air conditioning always blows cold or on the deck where you can take in the scenic surroundings that nature has to offer. Most meals come with choice of one or two southern inspired side dishes. Open for dinner during the week and both lunch and dinner on the weekends.
