AAA Editor Notes
Disney Springs™, 1780 Buena Vista Dr., is a waterfront complex offering eclectic boutiques, themed and celebrity restaurants, and live entertainment (including a House of Blues). Once known as the Downtown Disney Area, it has evolved to encompass four neighborhoods: The Landing, a waterside district with one-of-a-kind boutique shops and wharf-side eateries complete with artisanal cocktails; Town Center, Mediterranean-inspired Florida streets with flagship stores, boutiques and a playful promenade perfect to relax, refresh and reconnect; Marketplace, a hip Disney shopping experience with offerings ranging from a candy store to the world's largest collection of Disney merchandise; and West Side, where the air is mixed with the sound of applause for the nightly entertainment offerings.
The Characters in Flight ride features a gondola attached to a tethered balloon that ascends 400 feet, providing a panoramic view of the resort. Splitsville Luxury Lanes is a more-than-30-lane bowling alley; it offers live entertainment, billiard tables and diverse dining options. Among the many retailers are the interactive LEGO Imagination Center, the expansive World of Disney store, Orlando Harley-Davidson and a variety of specialty shops. For a sweet treat, try Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Soda Shop. La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil is performed here as well.
Note: DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park is scheduled to close and will be replaced with the NBA Experience; phone ahead to confirm schedule and offerings. The area as a whole has been undergoing phased renovations, but there should be minimal inconvenience to guests. A dress code and maximum bowling times apply at Splitsville Luxury Lanes.
