AAA Inspector Notes
In the heart of downtown, this outdoor restaurant has gained even bigger notoriety since being featured on the Food Network. This eatery was highlighted on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. The atmosphere is very casual and attracts a shorts-and-flip-flops kind of crowd. There is no air conditioning here, but fans and misters keep the area nice and cool. The kitchen is actually a hollowed out truck, and you can take a peek inside. Just ask the staff. The dining patio is surrounded by lush landscaping and colorfully painted wall murals, and sounds of trickling water fountains can be heard in the background. The menu, while not expansive, features influences from Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Choose from ceviche, empanadas, rice bowls, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, Cuban sandwiches and tamales, to name a few. The service is reflective of the atmosphere; the staff can also be seen wearing flip-flops and shorts. The sangria is a must-try. Check the website for events, which can include Taco Tuesdays and game night.
