Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum is at 4175 Medulla Rd. at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. The museum houses collectible aircraft including many unusual experimental and homebuilt models. Amphibious aircraft, biplanes, sailplanes, sports planes, ultralights, simulators and a collection of aircraft engines are among the items on display. Visitors can see aeronautical memorabilia from the collection of tycoon Howard Hughes. An interactive activity area features S.T.E.M. learning stations and immersive aerospace activities. Interactive smartphone tours are available. Guided tours are available.
$12; $10 (ages 55+ and active military with ID); $8 (ages 6-17); free (ages 0-5 and active military with ID).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4 (also Mon. 10-4, Nov.-Apr.), Sun. noon-4. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 1 hour minimum.
