AAA Inspector Notes
Historic. Situated in a restored, former Art Deco-style hotel, complete with the original reception desk from a bygone era and meat-hook chandeliers, is this lively steak-centric restaurant. If you want to try something different, then I recommend the house-cured bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly; odd as it may sound, the flavors blend together brilliantly. If you like variety, order the three seared filet mignons prepared Oscar, Au Poivre and Wellington style. If you passed on the bacon-peanut butter-jalapeño appetizer but still have a curious appetite, you may want to save room for the dessert inspired by Elvis Presley. The King is made with peanut butter sorbet, caramelized bananas, candied peanuts and a key ingredient: brown-sugar bacon.
