In the trendy Midtown district, this restaurant combines the flavors and techniques of several culinary traits. This expansive eatery has more than 4,000 square feet of space with two-story high ceilings and due to extreme popularity supports a boisterous atmosphere. There are three open kitchens from which to view menu selections being mastered. The chefs even use a robata-style cooking method, which is where meats are skewered and slowly cooked around a flame via bincho-tan charcoal. The atmosphere is definitely chic, yet casual at the same time. It's the perfect venue for large parties, events, gatherings with friends or casual bites for lunch and dinner. The menu focuses on International cuisine with many South American, Asian and Middle Eastern influences and is geared for ordering many small plates to share. The chefs offer an incredible number of options from shellfish towers and Wagyu beef sliders to pig's ears and beef short ribs. The sophisticated palate may want to try the bone marrow with veal cheek marmalade. Two house favorites that have received a lot of notoriety are the whole roasted chicken with truffle fingerling potatoes and the sweet-savory duck and waffle. The service reflects the atmosphere: casual and laid back but with some depth. The restaurant-bar has a top-notch beverage program incuding the use of herb and fruit infusions. Open late every night of the week, some nights until 2 am.
