AAA Inspector Notes
Ease into this popular and comfortable restaurant that sits just a few steps from the Indian River. Originally opened as a gas station and convenience store in the 1920s, it was transformed into a restaurant in the mid-1940s and has operated that way ever since. Serving the freshest seafood and Angus-certified beef products, this restaurant offers only high-quality food to its loyal customers. You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose here. Start with fried green tomatoes and shrimp before moving onto the entrée of your choice. Just be sure to cap off the meal with Key lime pie. The dining room splits in two and is accented nicely with a stone facade and light wood tones. Much of the staff has been here for years, so there's always a familiar face. Be sure to stop by the wine shop, which houses just some of the thousands of bottles in stock.
