AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Recreation/Exercise): There is so much to do here I found myself not wanting to leave and visit one of the theme parks. Floating down the lazy river is a must do!
Within walking distance of the popular Universal attractions, this property offers a retro 1950 and '60s design theme throughout and a wide range of activities for the whole family. There is a lazy river to relax in, two huge zero-entry swimming pools that are both over 9,000 square feet in size, a state-of-the-art exercise facility, a fire pit, beach volleyball, ping pong, cabanas and so much more. They even have a bowling alley on site! There are multiple walk-up dining outlets on the premises, as well. This hotel was designed with the family in mind. All rooms come with 2 queen size beds and many have connecting room doors. Smoke free premises. 1800 units. 4-7 stories, interior/exterior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

On site amenities/conveniences and activities plus shuttle service to Universal/City Walk were excellent.
Pros: Unique, clean and convenient
Cons: Smaller room than expected based on the online video tour

Pros: Reasonably priced for a large, new resort; easy access to Universal with buses that run constantly; attractive 50's decor; friendly personnel who strive to please; fun pools; no "resort fee", which makes up for the parking and pool tube charges.
Cons: Only one area (Hogsmeade) is open during the early access hour, meaning that all the hotel guests line up for the same major ride. The line was longer at 8:30am than at any time after the park opened. The same area is open early every day--no variety.

Very Good

Pros: It's so mod, from the vintage VO5 and Zest products in the bathroom to the layout. I loved the sandy area by the pool and the clips of old shows and movies in the Bayliner Diner. I didn't join in, but the movies in the pools every night are fun.
Cons: Rent the tubes for the lazy river or make them free!!!! Who wants to buy a $12 tube while on vacation? The bath towels were teeny and one had a tear/hole in them. Leftover meds/bath products were in the bathroom drawer (cleaning staff should look).
