Ca' d'Zan (Ringling's Winter Residence) is at 5401 Bay Shore Rd. on the grounds of The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and was completed in 1925 at a cost of $1.5 million. The 56-room, terra cotta mansion resembles a Venetian Gothic palace. Marble, tapestries and elaborately carved and gilded furniture dominate the interior. The mansion's first floor can be viewed on a self-guiding tour. The guided Mable's Tour includes the first and second floors; John's Tour includes floors two through five.
Docent-led tours are limited; an admission time is provided with art museum ticketing. Note: Guided tours require climbing stairs and standing for long periods.
