John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is 1.75 mi. s. of jct. US 1, SR A1A and SR 786 or 3 mi. n. of jct. US 1, SR A1A and SR 708 at 10900 Jack Nicklaus Dr. Sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Worth, the park protects a diverse and undisturbed subtropical coastal habitat with seven species of plants and 22 endangered or threatened animal species. The area is widely known as a nesting ground for loggerhead, leatherback and green sea turtles. Rangers and volunteers conduct daily nature walks and seasonal sea turtle education and nesting observations, birding programs, kayak tours and other seasonal programs. A nature center has interpretive exhibits, sea turtle tanks and four aquariums.

Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
