Goodwood Museum and Gardens is at 1600 Miccosukee Rd. The restored antebellum house is appointed with marble fireplaces, mahogany staircases and a fresco depicting Aesop's Fables. Originally a composite of Greek Revival, Federal and Italianate architectural styles, the house was modified with the addition of columns in the early 1900s. The estate was home to several prominent Floridians, including Sen. William C. Hodges. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Gardens free. Guided house tour $12; $10 (ages 65+ and active military with ID); $6 (ages 6-12). Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Gardens open Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 10-2. Guided house tours are given Tues.-Fri. at 10, 11:30, 1 and 2:30, Sat. at 10, 11:30 and 1. Closed major holidays.
