MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry), 4801 E. Fowler Ave., is one of the largest science centers in the country and contains more than 450 hands-on exhibits and demonstrations pertaining to science and technology, flight and space, health and weather. Learn the science behind natural disasters inside Disasterville, gain insight into health and the human body in The Amazing You, and pedal a high-wire bicycle 98 feet across a one-inch-wide steel cable suspended 30 feet in the air.
The multilevel Sky Trail Ropes Course and Sky Trail Zip Line dare you to defy gravity and your fears while testing your balance and dexterity. Make your way through the challenging ropes course that includes swinging steps, balance beams and trembling bridges 12 to 36 feet above ground level. On the zipline course you soar 65 feet above ground level for a total of 700 feet. Participants are safely strapped in with a harness, so there's no danger of falling.
The center also features Kids in Charge! The Children's Science Center at MOSI and the Florida Hospital IMAX DOME Theatre as well as Coleman Science Works Theater and Saunders Planetarium. Outdoor facilities include BioWorks Butterfly Garden, The Richard T. Bowers Historic Tree Grove, and The Backwoods Forest Preserve.
