The Lodge at Wakulla Springs

Built in 1935, the hacienda-style lodge is set within a 6,000-acre wildlife sanctuary and is a haven for those desiring a nature retreat. There are clearly marked hiking trails and riverboat tours. The gift shop/snack bar area is home to what is purportedly the world's longest marble bar counter, measuring more than 70 feet long. The lobby ceiling is an ornately painted and carefully preserved piece of art by a court painter of Kaiser Wilhelm. Room décor is a bit of mix and match, while guest bathrooms reflect the era of the building's construction.
