The Grand Oaks Museum

The Grand Oaks Museum, 3000 Marion County Rd., is located on a 400-acre equestrian-themed resort tucked into the rolling hills of Florida's horse breeding and training country. The museum displays a painstakingly curated collection of more than 160 restored antique carriages, including an 1850 dress chariot owned by Emperor Franz Josef of Austria; guests can also learn about equine history. The grounds include trails, arenas, an RV park and cottages. Grand Oaks hosts more than 40 events and horse shows featuring hunters, jumpers and dressage each year. Carriage and horseback rides and carriage driving lessons are available.
