AAA Editor Notes
Henry W. Grady Monument, on Marietta St. near Forsyth St., is a bronze statue of the late-19th-century writer and newspaper publisher who coined the phrase “The New South.” The sculpture, created by artist Alexander Doyle, depicts Grady facing the rising sun. His likeness is supported by two seated female virtues, one facing to the north and the other to the south.
