Albany Civil Rights Institute is at 326 Whitney Ave. Housed adjacent to the Old Mt. Zion Church, the museum commemorates the 1960s civil rights movement in southwest Georgia, emphasizing the role played by ordinary people in the struggle for civil rights. Exhibits, historic photographs and video footage recount the movement’s history. Temporary exhibits also are on display.

Guided tours are available.

$6; $5 (ages 62+, 5th-12th-graders, college students and military with ID); $3 (1st-4th-graders); $2 (preschoolers); free (ages 0-3 with parent). Phone ahead to confirm rates.
