Thronateeska Heritage Center and Wetherbee Planetarium and Science Museum is at 100 W. Roosevelt Ave. The heritage center is housed on a historic plaza and includes a museum that recounts the history of southwest Georgia, a railroad exhibit, a planetarium and a science museum featuring hands-on exhibits. The South Georgia Archives features local history information and a research room. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Heritage center and museum free. Planetarium show $3.50 (ages 4+).
Hours: Thurs.-Sat. 10-4. Planetarium show times 10:30, 11:30, 1, 2 and 3. Archives open Thurs.-Fri. 1-5 and by appointment. Closed most holidays; phone ahead.
