Morris Museum of Art is on the Riverwalk at 1 Tenth St. The museum is dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. The permanent collection of nearly 5,000 paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculptures is displayed in themed galleries, including 19th-century portraiture, the Civil War, Southern scenes, still lifes, Impressionist paintings, landscapes, and modern and contemporary art. More than 20 special exhibitions are hosted annually. Educational programs and special events are offered. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$5; $3 (senior citizens and military and students with ID); free (Sun. and ages 0-12).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-5. Closed major holidays.
