Tellus Science Museum is at 100 Tellus Dr. The museum houses four galleries. The Weinman Mineral Gallery displays gems and minerals from around the world. The Fossil Gallery takes visitors back to a time when dinosaurs, reptiles and giant mammals walked the earth. A highlight here is the 9-foot-wide jaw of a Megalodon, a shark the size of a school bus.
Science in Motion covers 100 years of transportation technology. Displays feature electric, steam and gasoline-powered cars and reflect the progress of the automotive industry as well as aviation and space exploration. The Collins Family My Big Backyard provides an interactive experience for children, letting them experiment with light, sound and electricity in a learning environment. A fossil dig and gem panning area allows young paleontologists to uncover their own buried fossils as well as sift for gems.
Special exhibits are featured in The Vault, Crossroads and Discovery Garden galleries. A 120-seat state-of-the-art digital planetarium takes visitors on a tour of the galaxy courtesy of four different shows.
