A.H. Stephens State Park is 2 mi. n. of I-20 via SR 22 exit at 456 Alexander St. N. Named after the vice president of the Confederacy and governor of Georgia, the park has both natural and historic features. Liberty Hall, Stephens' home, has been renovated to its 1875 appearance; tours are available of the furnished interior. A Confederate museum houses a fine collection of Civil War artifacts, including uniforms, documents and Gen. James Longstreet's battle flags. Guided tours are available. Pets on leash are allowed. Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.

Hours: Park open daily 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Historic site open Fri.-Sun. 9-5. Last tour begins 1 hour, 30 minutes before closing. Historic site closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
