First and last visit to...
Pros: Staff are pleasant and helpful and the location is good - the only upsides to this hotel.
Cons: This is a completely overpriced hotel. Breakfast is dreadful. This large conference hotel operates a small coffee kiosk for breakfast. I purchased french toast (from a microwave) for $9.00. (My bill for french toast and a coffee came to a ridiculous $14.00). The food available was awful (laden with sugar and fake ingredients), completely overpriced and did not look fresh. The fruit was stale and well past its best. You then have to eat breakfast in the cold hotel foyer. There is no eating area for guests in this hotel apart from the foyer! We did it once and then went downtown which, luckily, is not a long walk away, but still inconvenient. I was at a large conference for two days and you could not get coffee at break time as the poor staff in this kiosk tried to manage hundreds of delegates while also serving breakfast for the entire hotel! For over $200 dollars a night (2 x guests) this hotel is not worth the money. Bathroom was cleaned in a 'superficial' way - don't look too closely! Our sink was blocked with hair, we had to call maintenance to unblock it. The car parking system was also nothing but stress - the card wouldn't/couldn't work, instructions on the machine unclear, and so on. Twice we had to abandon the car and go back to reception to get out and we saw other guests struggling as well. We booked this hotel quickly without fully reading the reviews but believed for the money, surely it would be reliable. A mistake! We wouldn't stay again.
