Museum of Arts and Sciences, 7.5 mi. n. on US 41 at 4182 Forsyth Rd., features four galleries with frequently changing exhibitions. The Mark Smith Planetarium and the Mini-Zoo, a live animal habitat, present daily programs. The three-story Discovery House features hands-on activities for the family. On the fourth Friday evening of the month, the planetarium features a Sky Over Macon show and an observatory opens. A nature trail also is on the grounds.

Children ages 0-2 are not permitted in the planetarium.

Picnicking is permitted.

Museum (including all daily programs) or sky show $10; $8 (ages 62+ and military with ID); $7 (college students with ID); $5 (ages 3-17).
Museum open Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5. Planetarium shows are presented Tues.-Sat. at 11:30, 2 and 4, Sun. at 2 and 4. Mini-Zoo programs are presented Tues.-Sat. at 1 and 3, Sun. at 3. Additional shows may be scheduled in summer; phone ahead. Sky Over Macon show fourth Fri. of the month at 8 p.m.; observatory opens following the show (clear weather permitting). Closed major holidays.
