Telfair Academy is at 121 Barnard St. on Telfair Sq. Designed by William Jay in 1819, this Regency-style mansion includes two rooms furnished in period, including the impressive Rotunda and Sculpture Court. Collection highlights include fine examples of American Impressionism and Ashcan School Realism, with major paintings by Childe Hassam, Frederick Frieseke, Gari Melchers, Robert Henri, George Bellows, and George Luks. On long-term loan is the Bird Girl statue popularized by the book “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”

Guided tours are available.

(includes 1-week access to Telfair Academy, Jepson Center, and Owens-Thomas House and Slave Quarters) $20; $18 (ages 65+ and military with ID); $15 (ages 13-college students with ID).
Hours
Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun.-Mon. noon-5. Guided Mansion to Museum tours are given daily at noon, 2 and 4 (also Tues.-Sat. at 10). Special exhibition tours are given Mon.-Fri. at 1. Closed Jan. 1, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mar. 17, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Closes at 3 Christmas Eve and Dec. 31. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
