The Center For Wildlife Education & The Lamar Q. Ball, Jr. Raptor Center is on the campus of Georgia Southern University on Forest Dr. The center comprises almost 18 acres and showcases species of eagles, falcons, hawks, owls and vultures in natural habitats, in addition to a number of native waterfowl and wading birds. Indoor exhibits and wildlife shows present a variety of birds and reptiles. The 12-acre Wetland Preserve focuses on ornithology and water resource conservation. Picnicking is permitted.
$2; $1 (ages 3-11, ages 55+ and military with ID). Annual passes (unlimited visits) $8; $6 (ages 3-11, ages 55+ and military with ID). Fees exclude special events.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 1-5, Sept.-May; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, rest of year. Wildlife program Mon.-Fri. at 3:30, year-round. Sat. reptile program at 2, raptor program at 3, Sept.-May. Closed major holidays.
