Toccoa Falls is 2 mi. n.e. on Alt. SR 17 on the campus of Toccoa Falls College, a short walk from the Gate Cottage. The 186-foot falls are one of the highest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. Visitors have enjoyed this scenic spot since the early 1800s. Toccoa comes from a Cherokee word meaning “beautiful.” Entrance is through the campus book store.
