AAA Inspector Notes
Located in a former ice cream parlor, this spot now turns out gourmet meals in a casually upscale atmosphere. The refined menu covers the gamut from seafood, steaks and chops to distinctive pasta dishes. Specialties of the house include sweet potato-crusted grouper, bacon-wrapped and crab-stuffed local jumbo shrimp, jambalaya pasta, fire-roasted rib-eye and rack of lamb. Every night there are off-menu specialties. For those seeking something simpler, try the fried seafood platter. For lunch the menu is predominantly sandwiches and fried seafood platters. During my visit I had the hanger steak with asiago gnocchi macaroni and cheese and it was incredible. The gnocchi was so rich I didn't need to think about dessert afterwards. The place has an established following so get there early or be sure to make reservations.
