Robert Toombs House State Historic Site, 216 E. Robert Toombs Ave./Bus. Rte. 78, is the former home of the Confederate Secretary of State who was instrumental in leading Georgia to secession and war. The state has carefully restored the structure to its condition at the time of Toombs' death in 1885. The antebellum house displays furnishings once owned by the Toombs family.
