Le Domaine de Séverin

Le Domaine de Séverin is just w. of La Boucan traffic circle on road RN2, following signs. Originally called the Bellevue Plantation, this 18th-century sugar estate was purchased by the Marsolle family in 1928. The working rum distillery is operated by a paddlewheel. Tropical gardens and crawfish pools are among the sights on a 35-minute narrated train tour. Visitors may observe the processing of sugarcane February through June. Rum tastings are offered.
