Kahanu Garden is just past Milepost 31 on H&#257;na Hwy., then 1.5 mi. n. to 650 Ula&#8216;ino Rd. Plants from the Pacific Islands are featured on 122 acres. The garden is said to have the largest known collection of breadfruit cultivars, a chief South Pacific food source. Pi&#8216;ilanihale Heiau also is on the grounds.</br>Note: Heiau are culturally significant and should be treated with respect.</br>Guided tours are available. </br>
Self-guiding tour $10; free (ages 0-12). Guided tour $25; free (ages 0-12 when accompanied by paying adult). Reservations are required for guided tours.
Hours: Self-guiding tours Mon.-Fri. 9-4, Sat. 9-2. Guided tours begin at 11; phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 1 hour minimum.
