AAA Editor Notes
Banyan Tree Park, next to Old Lahaina Courthouse across from Lahaina Harbor, marks the center of town. Planted in 1873 by the sheriff of the town, this 60-foot tree is the largest on the islands. It shades more than two-thirds of an acre and measures one-fourth of a mile in circumference. Local vendors display their arts and crafts in the park most weekends.

Note: Non-essential travel to Lahaina is currently suspended due to the Aug. 8 wildfires. Call ahead for updates. Although damaged by the fire, the historic banyan tree is expected to survive.
