Kaua‘i Museum, 4428 Rice St., is a two-building complex offering exhibits, lectures and demonstrations that relate the history of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau. The Albert Spencer Wilcox Memorial Building, built from lava rock, and the William Hyde Rice Building feature thousands of stone, shell and feather artifacts; textiles; photographs; works of art; and natural-history video presentations. Guided tours are available.
$15; $12 (ages 65+); $10 (ages 8-17 and Hawai‘i residents with ID); $7.50 (guest of active military with ID); free (ages 0-7 and active military with ID).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9-4. Guided tours most weekdays at 10:30. Closed Jan. 1, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
