Tropic Lightning Museum is accessed through Lyman Gate. The museum is in Carter Hall (Building 361) at jct. Waianae Ave. and Flagler Rd. The 25th Infantry Division, nicknamed “Tropic Lightning” in the mid-1940s while fighting in the Philippines, has fought in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and both Gulf wars. The unit also has participated in various international peacekeeping missions. The museum showcases the history of the 25th Infantry Division and Schofield Barracks through archives, artifacts, photos and interactive exhibits.
Note: For security purposes all vehicles will be inspected prior to entrance. A photo ID is required for adult visitors. Photography is permitted in the museum but not on the grounds.
